Advocacy
Mountain biking has become popular around the world, and most land managers and trail-user groups have come to acknowledge the legitimacy of responsible mountain biking on public lands. Our goal is to work with officials to expand our trail systems with more variety.
Our Advocacy Chairman Brad DeVries is working hard with City government, local officials, Forest Service and other user groups to make Prescott mountain biking the best.
One of our goals is to get the Circle Trail completed. Brad is speaking with the private land owners asking them to give us a small right of way. Brad is also in touch with the Prescott city council to find out how we can get rights passage on their land as well as BLM land.

Trails
This is our most popular committee. Everyone wants to get out and get their hands dirty to say, "I helped build this trail".
Our Trails Committee Chairman is John Shumaker. He is very well known in the community for building and maintaining the Prescott Trails.
John is currently working with the Forest Service on some reroutes. In some cases we can't stop reroute's, but we can help give the reroutes biking character. He and the committee will add technical features while retaining the fun feel and keeping the trails sustainable.
The Trails Committee is also working on a Master Plan for the trail system. Our goal is to have most trails connect to each other in some way, name the trails instead of numbering making it easier to navigate through the forest. Make sure there is adequate signage at trailheads and trail intersections.

Rides - Social
Rides and social committee is considered the "fun" committee. This committee is responsible for all of the group rides and for the tasty refreshments afterwards.
The Rides Committee is chaired by Brooke Weitkunat. She and the committee are working on putting together more group rides, skills clinic, youth races and activities as well as family rides on the PeeVine trail.
Rides / Social committee will put on events such as:
- bike races
- fun / social activities -scavenger/urban rides
- possible fall race event
